Time to downsize

So today, Chuck and I are going out to look at apartments and such. We've been living in our house for over a year and we love it here, everything except for the big rent payment every month. We want to eventually buy our own home and there is no way we could save enough living here. We've also been going through a rough patch financially, so it's time to downsize. Neither one of us like the idea too much. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and we know it will be better in the long run. I also wanna get back in school full time, hopefully in the Fall. That would mean cutting back on hours at work. So in the next few weeks I will be putting alot of stuff of craigslist in hopes of making some extra cash and getting rid of some clutter. I'm even considering selling my wedding dress. I'm just not sure about it just yet and I don't wanna regret it later on down the road. Anyone have any tips for making some extra cash without getting a second job?
